10/11 Committee
President
Stephen Denham, 3rd year MSISS
Stephen led the trek to Santiago last year, resulting in 26 students being made homeless for the night in Spain! After this blooming success, he was elected as President of the society. His job mainly entails performing at the annual Strip Auction… now there’s something to look forward to!
Since taking to the helm of VDP, Stephen has greatly improved his leadership record, with not one single student rendered homeless under his reign. Long may it continue.
Activities
Louisa Miller, 4th year Social Studies
Louisa is a true veteran, this will be her sixth year working with Vincent de Paul. With the enormous task of overseeing VDP’s 20+ weekly activities, she defines the word stoic.
Word on the street is that she runs this logistical nightmare from a secret chamber under front square which only she and the provost have access to... impressive!
Fundraising
Camilla Rye,
4th year English and French
Camilla’s role basically involves organising as many crazy nights out as possible; nights which will last in the memory for years… or not at all in some cases.
Without a doubt, she has two sides to her. One is the O-M-F-G -THAT-WAS-SUCH-A-GOODNIGHT side. The other, wants to know exactly when, where and how the fun will be starting (and how much will be raised for VDP of course!)
Treasurer
Shane Jackson, 3rd year BESS
Mr. Jackson is our resident moneyman. He is a rare breed, being the kind of person who actually enjoys accounting. He can be spotted on the dark Arts Block planes and is usually found scavenging on the cheapest chicken fillet roll he can get his hands on. Noticeably thinly built. Sources say, when he moved house, he took the wallpaper with him.
Secretary
Ann-Marie Hayes,
4th year Medicine
Ann-Marie has, as her rivals from Cork (she’s a Kerry woman!) would put it, the gift of the gab. She ran Trinity Club last year and when asked to describe her, one of the members summed her up very nicely in the following sentence, “I feel sorry for the fella that marries her”. We do too.
She studies medicine though, and she could end up treating you some day, so make sure to stay on her good side!
Intervarsities
Edel Cronin,
4th year Physiotherapy
Edel is in charge of coordinating with other college Vincent de Paul Societies, VDPeaking in the Intervarsities weekend trip away and Homeless Week. What a lot of people don’t know about her is that Edel actually rhymes with bell! Need we say any more?
PR Officer
Cailín Maguire,
4th year MSISS
Cailín spent last Freshers’ Week parading around Front Square in a moose costume. This is an act she plans to surpass this year. Who knows what woodland creature she will emulate in the name of public relations? A frog? Maybe. A tree? Probably not.
