    Fundraising

Charity. A magical word that can mask all manner of mischief. “... but it’s for charity!” suddenly makes even the wackiest ideas perfectly viable events and can turn the most reluctant participator into a diehard party animal. Smiling children, feeding homeless people, supporting families in need- none of this would be possible without fundraising, the back bone of the Vincent de Paul.

Whether it’s your life-long ambition to shake a bucket in the face of unsuspecting commuters or you’ve already been out four nights this week and need an excuse for one more (its for charity!- works every time) then get ready to realise your dreams, this year’s fundraising is set to be bigger and better than ever before! “No!” “How can that be?!” I hear you cry, “surely nothing can beat the shear madness of last year’s cryptic treasure hunt, the unimaginable hilarity of the star’s in your eyes competition, the unashamed nakedness of the slave auction and many more events?!”

Fundraising in the Vincent de Paul encompasses everything from events and street collecting to sponsored waxes, literally anything you can think of that would raise a bit of money to allow the society to continue to grow and prosper and help more people.

If YOU think you have an idea which could raise some dosh for those in desperate need, don’t be shy! If its crap, I’ll tell you, so no pressure! It can be great fun and great experience to plan and organise your own event, or even just to see your idea come to life as a fabulous functioning fundraiser, so go to our ideas form or drop me an e-mail (fundraising@trinityvdp.com) for the chance to see your name in lights!

It is something everyone can get involved in, be it planning and organisation, helping out on the night or simply attending and enjoying our many unmissable events! The fundraising committee meets once a week for a short meeting where if nothing else, you are guaranteed a cup of tea and a biscuit (maybe two!) and everyone is always welcome so don’t miss out, come along and join the FUN!(draising).
