Visiting
Every Wednesday from 6.15 and Alternate Mondays from 6.45.
This activity operates in conjunction with VDP conferences outside of the college. We visit elderly, families, single parents, students etc. in the local area to have a chat or even bring them food or vouchers. Often we find the people we visit are cut off from the community or live alone and look forward to a fifteen minute catch up with one of the volunteers. You may be the only person they’ve communicated with all day and the only person to ask how they are all week. We also organise a Christmas party for the local people in early January, it promises to be fun filled night with lots of food, singing and dancing.
This activity, because it’s on in the evenings, doesn’t interfere with college and is guaranteed to leave any volunteer humbled and grateful for what they have.
